Carol is a Partner and Chair of the Business Practice with Boylan Code LLP, a 30 attorney law firm located in Rochester, NY satellite offices in Canandaigua and Newark, NY. She has been practicing law for 36 years, representing public and closely held businesses, as well as not for profit entities, primarily in the manufacturing, professional services, health care and It industries, and working with family owned businesses. Carol has particular expertise in business, finance and transactional matters, including M&A, as well as succession planning, commercial real estate, planning and zoning, intellectual property (trademark and copyright and licensing) and labor and employment matters. She also work with start ups on a selective basis. Carol is a prolific writer and have published innumerable articles over the years in various scholarly journals and other publications. Carol currently writes a monthly article on legal topics of interest to our local community together with one of my partners for The Daily Messenger newspaper in Canandaigua, New York. Further, Carole is also a frequent public speaker on a wide variety of topics, both for our law firm clientele and for various trade groups and other venues, including the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, the Rochester Builders Exchange, the Small Business Association, the Cornell Cooperative Extension, High Tech Rochester, the New York Wine and Grape Foundation, among others. In addition, she is also a co-author and presenter of an annual Employment Law Series presented by my Firm. Carol is a recipient of numerous professional awards, including two Women of Distinction Awards from the Professional Women of the Finger Lakes and the NYS Bar Association President’s Award for Pro Bono Service and was nominated for the Rochester Chamber of Commerce Athena Award.
