Lawyers of Distinction is happy to announce that, Rhonda Sallee, Esq. of Chicago, Illinois, is running for Judge in the 5th Judicial Sub-Circuit Court of Cook County. The primary election will be held on March 20, 2018.
Ms. Sallee brings wealth of experience and will be an asset to the bench. Some of her experience includes being a Child Representative for the Circuit Court of Cook County. As a Child Representative, Ms. Sallee, was appointed by the Circuit Court of Cook County to represent children that are subject to either a paternity action or dissolution of marriage proceeding. Ms. Sallee is tasked with keeping the children’s best interest relevant in these proceedings, which easily can get distracted by other issues.
In addition, Ms. Sallee directly assisted with the management of a 1700 case calendar call in the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court and a 600 case calendar in the Law Division of the Court. Some of her tasks included: scheduling hearings, read pleadings, completing research and drafting recommendations decisions for the presiding judge. Ms. Sallee is also an arbitrator. As an arbitrator, Ms. Sallee ruled on numerous cases after weighing the evidence and the credibility of witnesses.
In the past, Ms. Sallee has practiced before the Illinois Appellate Court, and varying administrative agencies including: the Illinois Labor Relations board, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and the Illinois Human Rights Commission. She is licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the Northern District of Illinois.
Ms. Sallee’s has also been very active in her community for the past 18 years. During that time, Ms. Sallee started the Legal Services Ministry, which offers free legal information and referrals to those in need in the greater Cook Country area. Ms. Sallee is also a member of Sister Peak, which is an organization that mentors young girls also within the Greater Cook County area.
