Lawyers of Distinction Welcomes Elizabeth A. Horan, Esq.

Lawyers of Distinction wishes to welcome Elizabeth A. Horan, Esq. of East Norwich, New York as a certified member for 2019. Elizabeth Horan has devoted her thirty five plus year career to the defense of personal injury actions, including physician and facility malpractice, attorney malpractice, veterinary malpractice, general liability and horse-stable liability claims. Elizabeth has also represented physicians in disciplinary hearings before the OPMC and before various hospital Boards of Directors. A founding partner of McHenry & Horan, P.C. in 1983, she recently joined Bower Law, P.C. which embodies the enthusiastic and carefully reasoned practice of law which have been the hallmark of her extensive practice as both a trial and appellate lawyer.

Elizabeth received her A.B., with highest honors, in Psychology and Spanish literature from Vassar College in 1978. She obtained her J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1980. She is admitted to the New York State Bar and the Eastern and Southern Districts of the Federal Courts of New York.
Elizabeth is an AV rated attorney through the Peer Review process of Martindale-Hubbell. She co-chaired the Medical Malpractice section of the Nassau County Bar Association, focusing on organizing and presenting educational programs, from 2012-2014. She has lectured for the ABA, NYSSA and Nassau County Bar Association on the topics of jury selection and trial evidence and for various medical societies, including the American Society of Radiologists and American Society of Vascular Surgeons, on practices to avoid professional negligence lawsuits. In 2008, Elizabeth was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women Attorneys in the United States by Time Magazine and in 2015 was named one of the 50 Most Powerful Women Attorneys in the United States by Fortune Magazine.
