Lawyers of Distinction member Melissa H. Luce of Charleston, West Virginia, has become a named partner at a prominent Charleston law firm. Formerly The Calwell Practice LC, the new firm is now known as Calwell Luce diTrapano PLLC.

Luce received her Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University College of Law in 1986 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Davis & Elkins College with a Bachelor of Arts. She began working for founder and legendary lawyer Stuart Calwell in 2008 and has earned a reputation as a formidable medical malpractice attorney. Luce was elevated to Managing Attorney in 2011 and continues to serve in that capacity under the new partnership.

Among other accolades, Luce is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a member of the prestigious Injury Board, AV Preeiminent Peer Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for highest level of professional excellence, listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and prior to returning to West Virginia in 2008, was certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a distinction by less than one percent of the legal profession in New Jersey. In addition to West Virginia, Luce is a member of the bars of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Her primary areas of practice include medical malpractice, pharmaceutical injuries, Chlorpyrifos pesticide damages, products liability, wrongful death, and general personal injury.
