Lawyers of Distinction Welcomes Magistrate Diane French
Lawyers of Distinction wishes to welcome and congratulate Magistrate Diane French as one of its newest members. Ms. Diane French works as a Magistrate in the Van Wert Municipal Court in Lima, Ohio. Diane French got her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas-Austin and then went on to receive her law degree from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.
Ms. Diane French’s legal experience is unparalleled. She has practiced law for over thirty years and has pretty much seen and done it all. To start, Ms. French worked for the FBI as a special agent. Following her stint with the FBI, French went on to start a very successful workers compensation and personal injury practice in Columbus, Ohio. Her firm has become one of the largest workers compensation firms in Ohio. Following starting her own law practice, Ms. French became general counsel for the largest design and engineering firm in northwest Ohio. French elevated herself all the way to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President before joining her husband in his law practice. In addition, French was an assistant prosecutor and special prosecutor for the Allen County Municipal Court. Finally and most recently, French served as legal counsel for Allen County Sheriff’s department in Lima, Ohio.
Ms. Diane French has a passion for her work as a Magistrate. “I enjoy working with the public; I enjoy meeting people, getting people back on their feet who have had a rough time in life.”
Currently, Ms. French helps with the ever increasing case load in the Van Wert Municipal Court and handles much of the courts civil caseload. French is licensed to practice law in eight different states and the District of Columbia. She has two sons, Alex and Brandon, both of whom are attorneys as well.
